Holds diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Speaks English and Arabic.

Held various diplomatic posts in the MFA headqaters and abroad.
1972-1977 – Embassy of the USSR in Egypt.
1977-1980 – Department of the international organizations, MFA.
1980-1984 – Embassy of the USSR in Jordan.
1984-1992 – Chief of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.
1992-1997 – Permanent mission of Russian Federation to the UN.
1997-1999 – Deputy director of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.
1999-2004 – First deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN.
2004-2008 – Office of the Secretary General of the UN.
2008-2011 – Director of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.
Since January, 2011 – Deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.
