Unknown persons hurled two Molotov cocktails into the territory of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belarus on the evening of August 30. By the merest chance, none of the staff has been injured.
We regard this incident as an outrageous act behind which is visible the desire of certain forces to try and interfere with the normal work of the Embassy and bring elements of distrust and tension into bilateral relations.
The Russian side insists on a prompt and thorough investigation of all circumstances of the incident and that the organizers and perpetrators of the crime shall be identified and punished. We believe that the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Belarus will take all necessary measures to completely prevent such actions in the future.
