Russian President Vladimir Putin Sends Telegram of Condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed M. Khatami

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram of condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Mohammad Khatami over the train blast entailing numerous casualties.

The telegram reads in part:

"It was with a feeling of deep bitterness and pain that I learned news of the tragedy - the train blast in Khorasan entailing numerous casualties.

"Please convey my sincere condolences to the kith and kin of the dead and to the leadership and people of friendly Iran."
